The November series is for GCSE Maths and English Language only. These are the exam boards' dates. Your school or college will set its own entry cut-off before the board deadline, often in mid to late September, so ask the exams officer this week rather than next month.

Maths and English Language papers sit in the first fortnight of November. Exact days depend on the board, so check the timetable your centre gives you.
A grade 4 in January means the subject is done before the summer. If November does not go to plan, the summer 2027 series is still there.
GCSE Maths and English have two resit windows each year
Board entry deadline 4 October 2026. Schools and colleges close entries earlier.

The right window depends on how far off a 4 the summer grade was, not on how keen everyone is to get it over with.
One rule to know: a student under 19 who got below a 4 in Maths or English has to carry on studying that subject as part of their course. A grade 3 means continuing with the GCSE; a 2 or below can sometimes mean Functional Skills instead. Whether that study includes a November entry is the college's call about readiness, not an automatic rule, so the conversation to have is with the college as well as with us.
One lesson a week, online, with a past paper between lessons. This is the shape our tutors use for a November resit.
Week 1: the summer paper
Go through the paper the student actually sat, or the closest mock. The marks that were lost tell the tutor where the eight weeks go.
Weeks 2 to 5: the topics that cost marks
In Maths that is usually a handful of areas, such as ratio, fractions and percentages, algebra, or a geometry topic. In English Language it is usually one question type per paper. Each lesson fixes one thing and sets practice on it.
Weeks 6 and 7: timed past papers
Full papers under exam timing, marked against the board's mark scheme, with the lesson spent on what the paper showed.
Week 8: technique and the plan for each paper
Which questions to attempt first, how long to give each, and what to do when stuck. After every lesson you get a written summary of what was covered and what to practise next.
